Prestige Exterior Painting has deep roots in the Kansas City Metro, beginning with founder Rick Trieb, who grew up in the area and attended William Chrisman High School as well as Joe Herndon Vo-Tech during his senior year. After graduating early in 1989, Rick spent the early years of his career working for a variety of construction companies. Between 1992 and 1999, he gained hands-on experience in concrete, framing, drywall, painting, and roofing—skills that would later shape the foundation of the company.

In the mid-1990s, Rick began taking on side work such as gutter cleaning, lawn care, leaf removal, window washing, painting, and Christmas light installation. Painting and Christmas lighting soon became his passions, and in 1999 he officially formed an LLC. What started as a one-man operation steadily grew into a well-known and trusted exterior painting company serving the Kansas City region.

Over the years, Prestige Exterior Painting expanded to include its own building, an Operations Office Manager (Megan), a Salesman (Trent), 2–3 paint crews, and a dedicated wood crew. Since 1997, the company has completed over 3,000 exterior projects throughout Overland Park, Leawood, Prairie Village, Mission Hills, Lee’s Summit, and the surrounding Kansas City area—earning a reputation as the area’s #1 exterior repaint specialist.

Beginning January 1st, 2026, Prestige Exterior Painting officially enters its second generation of ownership. Rick’s son, Trent Trieb, who began learning the business in 2021 and started purchasing it in 2022, now steps into the role of owner. Trent holds a Business Degree and has spent years studying the operations, craftsmanship standards, and customer-focused approach that have defined the company for decades.

Rick will continue to play an important role in the business as Sales Manager, remaining closely involved with customers and supporting the strong reputation he helped build. Under Trent’s leadership and with the continued experience of Rick and the entire team, Prestige Exterior Painting looks forward to many more years of serving Kansas City with integrity, quality, and family-driven dedication.
